Every state in the country has been hurt by institutional sexual abuse – and adults are not the only victims. In many cases, children have been victimized by some of the very people they admire the most.

Victims of these crimes can file criminal charges, of course, but many of them are unaware there are other ways to pursue additional justice. You might, for example, may be able to file a lawsuit against the institution that hired the abuser.

Thousands of people around the country have done just that, taking action against churches, schools and other institutions that put sexual criminals in a position to victimize innocent children and adults. But this area of the law is extremely complex. Different states have different laws, and it can quickly become confusing.

If you live in one of these states, go to your state’s page to find more information.

If you or a loved one experienced this horrible crime at the hands of someone representing an institution, Baron & Budd may be able to help you obtain compensation.
